Broadbeach, Australia contributions helpful votes. Great tour to Cape Peninsula. We did the full day tour from Capetown to the Peninsula. We were picked up promptly at the agreed time at our hotel by Norman , our guide and driver.
The tour took us first to Hout Bay, where we did a boat trip your expense to a seal colony- with lovely weather, it was very enjoyable. Next we went along the fabulous cliff side drive down the west of the peninsula to the Cape of Good Hope, with lovely scenery on the way. In the national park at the Cape, we visited a light house on a seaside cliff - fabulous views in all directions.
Following a visit to the Penguin colony at Simon Town , we had a very nice lunch your expense at a restaurant overlooking the harbour. On the return journey to Capetown, we stopped at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, which were outstanding. The tour lasted from 8am until about 5. Norman was informative, flexible and well organised - a perfect host. Great day!

A motorbike with side car took us from Cape Town around the coast line stopping at many tourist attractions including False Bay, Boulders for the African Penguins and around to Cape of Good Hope.
We had a great day and thank Laurence for giving us a great day exploring the coast of Cape Town. Date of experience: August Good Day Thank you for taking the time out to provide us with your feedback. We are glad that you had a great day. Samantha wrote a review Aug Guide was Racist. Our group did a city tour with the guide named Eva Craik. Not only was Table Mountain closed but apparently it is always closed at that time of the year for maintenence. We were never told that and never got to go there, Strike 1.
Our guide arrived and seemed pleasant enough. As we started on the tour she pointed out the soccer stadium and wrongly stated this is where the Dutch won the world cup they have never won a World Cup. She then proceeded to give the history of Capetown, South Africa and totally dismissed the indegenious people who lived there before the dutch arrived. When asked about that she got frustrated and dismissive and reported "they were the bushmen and they all left to go to Namibia". Big Strike 2. Last strike for me was when she took the group into the castle I stayed behind but I did not like her narrative and referred to the indiginous inhabitants of which there was a statute as "Varmin" who killed the dutch.
One of the members of my group attempted to pull her to the side to tell her that her comments were offensive and she reported that was what was in the history books. She continued to be short of offended by questions about the history of the place that did not fit her narrative of Cape Town. My cotraveller again tried to talk to her when we got back to the hotel and apparently she apologized when our professional titles were shared with her.
This was the only horrible experience while there. I am sure other tourguides were wonderful because we experienced many from different companies.
